The Crew

We're the Ward's - A full-time nomadic family of five originally from Georgia, USA.  We have been traveling full time since 2019, by land and by sea.​

Get to Know Us

Ben and Amber met at the age of 4 in Columbus, Georgia, USA. They attended the same church, the same schools, and were friends who fell in love during their college years. After a few job moves, they ended up in Richmond, Virginia and sailing and racing on the Chesapeake Bay. This sparked a big dream of cruising and traveling full time by sailboat with our children.

How Did We Get Here

Ben worked in the corporate world in the banking and fintech industries with over 22 years of product and technology leadership experience. Ben took a self-directed sabbatical in March of 2023 to go cruising full-time with his family aboard their 47ft sailboat.  Before leaving the US, Ben also worked as a yacht broker for Integrity Yacht Sales, where he enjoyed helping clients realize their dreams of cruising.  Upon returning to the US in May of 2024, Ben and Amber launched Ward Yacht Sales in Florida and recruited a growing team of experienced yacht brokers to join them.

Amber is an early childhood education major and former public school teacher who has been homeschooling the Ward children for 12+ years.​  Amber provides operational and administrative support for the family business.  She also enjoys biking, sewing, and reading.
